Dubai gold prices dip as DSS 2025 begins: Will shoppers try their luck?
22K rate may dip below Dh370 as gold raffles heat up across the city
DUBAI: As Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025 officially opens today, gold shoppers in the UAE are eyeing not just the latest jewellery designs, but also the chance to win big – thanks to reduced raffle thresholds and falling gold rates.
According to Dubai Jewellery Group, today's suggested retail gold jewellery rates are as follows:
- 24K: Dh396.75 per gram
- 22K: Dh367.50
- 21K: Dh352.50
- 18K: Dh302.00
These rates signal a notable dip, with 22K gold hovering just above the Dh370 psychological mark – considered a key trigger point for buyers deciding whether to make a purchase or wait.
In a strategic move to encourage more footfall, DSS 2025 has lowered the gold raffle entry price from Dh1,500 to Dh1,000. Retailers say this is likely to boost interest, particularly among shoppers who typically spend between Dh1,500 and Dh3,000 during Dubai’s retail festivals to qualify for such draws.
Complementing the raffle is a suite of offers from Dubai Jewellery Group members, including up to 70% off on diamonds and pearls, 50% off making charges on select gold jewellery, zero deductions on old gold exchange, and free gifts with certain purchases.
Despite a weakening dollar – which usually pushes gold prices up – both the dollar and gold are trending downward today. The global bullion price has dropped by more than $30 an ounce to $3,299, marking its lowest point in nearly a month.
With forecasts suggesting that 22K may drop below Dh370 this weekend, DSS 2025 presents a golden opportunity for both seasoned buyers and first-time shoppers.
